  • This is the official discussion thread for S2E6, "Robustus".

I'm amped up for this episode. A year ago at SDCC, a fan made an inquiry if whether robots can get akumatized or not and it appears like the appropriate response is yes. What a little turn. However, why is Hawk Moth so enthusiastic at akumatizing robots now? it is safe to say that Hawk Moth is getting increasingly urgent at this point? By the way, I found the scene where Marinette sneaks up on max is quite cute. And we get to see Ms. Mendeleiev with Max in one scene. Maybe we get to discover her charming side?

What's more, since when was robots vulnerable against akuma attacks? That is the thing that I can hardly wait to discover tomorrow!

Post and share your thoughts on the episode here. You will not need to mark spoilers in this thread.

    • Hawk Moth was at that point frantic when he akumatized Xavier Ramier and Manon. lol. In any case, Robostus' abilties look cool. He resembles a magnet. Marinette sneaking up on Max is odd, but I'm sure she's doing it for a good reason. I ask why however. Is she attempting to keep Max quiet subsequent to coming up short a robot challenge or something. Can hardly wait. :)

      Demon Eyes BG Character
As for the episode, I'm eager for Markov, the akumatization of a robot, and more Max and Ms. Mendeleiev. Fun cameos too, by the looks of it, with brief running shots of Marlena, the butler, and the maid. There's also a strange-looking civilian with dark gray arm thingies in the Louvre. I don't know if that is a future character, and it's probably just a recolored civilian, but I like the design. He looks like he has demon eyes from the trailer. XD

Also, a villain who brings inanimate objects, presumably technology only, is awesome. It's hilarious seeing objects chase civilians around and imagining the superhero duo having to fight back against non-living beings. With how many times we've gotten villains who control civilians and Cat Noir, it's fun to go the opposite direction with ordinary objects being the minions.

    • Am I the only one that is relieved that we get a break from the love square? I might be completely wrong, as there is a little bit of the love square in every episode, but for some reason after the past few episodes I feel like I need a breather from the drama surrounding it.

I agree. While I like romantic moments from time-to-time, we've had more than enough intense, passionate moments from all sides of the love square in the last four episodes. I don't know when we're getting the next plot-related episode, but sometimes it's nice to have a moment where the main relationship doesn't need to be strongly emphasized in the episode. There may still be a moment, but unless the episode is oddly intent on including major romantic moments somehow, it feels like this episode is more of a world expander by showing robots can be akumatized and giving some focus to Max, Markov, and Ms. Mendeleiev.

    • I'm looking forward to seeing this episode when it airs. Markov/Robostus looks to a great degree adorable, both civilian wise and as a villain. I'm additionally happy we get to a see Max related episode as well.

With respect to Robostus' abilities, it appears like it can swing items to living creatures which is a cool feature yet in addition very horrifying. One scene features a huge robot that is presumably made out of cars and other vehicles dropping Ladybug and Cat Noir at the Parc des Princes. There's also another scene where another scene where it looks like Robostus is trying to capture Max and Ms. Mendeleiev.

Furthermore, I agree, it's likewise awesome to see Ms. Mendeleiev. Toward the begin, she seems very strict and mean by hollering at Max, however, this may be where we see her more pleasant side.

Moreover, I'd jump at the chance to know how clever Max is. He's was by all accounts extremely experienced and intelligent with making machines, for example, robots. I hope we get the opportunity to discover his creative side in this episode.

Robots don't generally comprehend emotions, however, I'm intrigued to perceive how Markov gets akumatized. And how is it vulnerable for akumatization? I do trust the show intensifies fans request for regarding that.

In general, I'm truly happy that the show's makers incorporated robots into the show, we realize that they can get akumatized. There is additionally a possibility that creatures can get akumatized too. Hopefully, in the future, we see other creatures and surprising objects get akumatized in the future.

I really adore the love square and the romance in the series but I do agree, it's good to have a break every once in a while. This episode holds a radical new event, consequently, the inanimate object getting akumatized.

I hope there will be more episodes without romance so we have the chance to reflect on the main story, the superheroes living their lives and saving Paris!

    • This episode looks very interesting, and I really want to see how the robot gets akumatized. I'd like to see a bit of Kim, too, but of course mainly Max.

And yes, a break from the love square is great.

    • Maybe this is me being a bit naive, but aren't akumas based off of negative emotions? Since when can robots feel genuine emotion?

Apart from the minor detail I am questioning, I'm really excited for this episode.

    • I feel the question shouldn't be "don't akumas go for negative emotions?" and more "How does Max get his robot to have emotions?".

      Unnamed villain with Rotor blades

Frankly as someone who finds Max a little obnoxious (likely because he's like an exaggerated version of me and I disliked his attitude in "The Gamer"), I'm not eager to see him spotlight. But Markov, or at least Robostus, is utterly adorable. Markov would seem to be cubical if the images on Max's laptop are anything to go on, but Robostus is round and cute.

I do think he's that propeller-headed villain we see the shadow of, though. I'm pretty sure that's Robostus.

Also, I'm eager to see a more human side to Ms Mendeleiev, protecting Max like that. She's quite stern I think, but means well.

    • Okay here is my theory after seeing the end of Robostus. We finally know what the "god-like" power does. It grants one wish. I think most people have deduced that Hawkmoth wants to bring his wife back - and I'm guessing that that is what he will wish for. I love where this story is going - if they make Adrien choose between his mother and doing what is right, I'd love to see what he would do. The catch that someone else would lose thier life in exchange to bring someone back has raised the stakes even higher. The question is: who would Hawkmoth choose to bring his wife back?

This plot could go in so many directions and I am not complaining at all, a refreshing episode all in all.

    • hawkmoth getting attacked by his own akuma for once was a great change, and it was interesting to see him fight. i really like how refreshing this season's akumas are! also, why does he has so many missiles in his lair???

i thought it was going to be one akuma-centric episode again, so i wasn't really looking forward to it sooo much, but i still got more from this episode (especially the ending with master fu and marinette's talk). it's only been 5 episodes but it's already so plot heavy and has so much potential.

The missiles are very impractical so they are quite strange. I wonder if they're some odd-duck part of the Agreste security system, since the lair appears to be under the manor in Season 2 (appparently the Tower was in the long shot because they wanted it to be in every shot or something). They had to already be there, and some angry red light starts blaring, so that means that the missles are part of the system Hawk Moth has. But they seem wildly impractical and unsafe.

Well, 6 episodes. The Collector, Despair Bear, Prime Queen, Befana, Riposte, and Robostus. I really like most of the episodes so far, though I found Riposte hard to enjoy because of how creepy I find Kagami/Riposte's designs.

yeah probably :/ it's also seems that they are pointed inwards, which confused be even more. Maybe it's a security systems in case someone manages to break into his lair or something, but as you said, they seem really unsafe.

aah, ups, right 6 episodes (i always forget to include the collector since it is an extension to volpina hehe). kagami as a character seems really promising and charming, but i'm also not a fan of her design. i think its her eyes? because they are too pointed and too high, especially when you compare them to the other characters.

Well they make little sense point out, either. They're just a weird thing he has and I'm intensely curious where they came from and why.

I always forget about Riposte. I think it's a combination of her helmet-like hair and her eyes that creep me out.

    • Marinette is so kind hearted. She suggested for using the Miraculous Ultimate Power to end wars and poverty. What an act of graciousness.

    • From this wiki, it says "Robustus also asks what the Miraculouses are and learns about the wish-granting ability when the Ladybug Miraculous and Cat Miraculous are combined." There was a life lesson to the main villain, "Never explain what your goal does to henchmen."

Hawk Moth is not a follower of the Evil Overlord List beause he seems to have a chronic case of Bond Villain Stupidity.
