As of Season 1, there are seven Miraculouses we know about, and we know about their present and future whereabouts. Only four have appeared, with three being used, but the fourth Miraculous and the three others that aren’t active will be fully revealed within Season 2/Season 3.
    Miraculouses origins

However, what about other Miraculouses? After all, we have evidence and confirmation that more than seven exist. For example, in a Lindalee Rose interview, Jeremy Zag revealed that the chest containing Miraculous has more than one level, the top level being the only one shown so far. Additionally, after confirming not every animal has Miraculous based on it, and when asked if there were only seven Miraculouses, Thomas Astruc’s response was, “ Actually it’s a bit more complicated, but now you’ll have at least 3 seasons to discover it.” He seems to be suggesting there is more going on with the Miraculouses, and there may be more than the seven we’ve seen in existence.

For my own curiosity, I searched at the information and images we have so far to see what Miraculouses have been suggested and might exist. The best sources for this search come from an animatic, the actual show, and the final design of Master Fu’s Miraculous-holding chest.

First, let’s look at this storyboard from the animatic of the theme song.
    TSSB 5

These Miraculouses in the chest are different from the ones showcased in the final version. The only three instantly recognizable Miraculouses are the Cat, Ladybug, and Moth Miraculouses. This is what the rest look like to me.

The lowest Miraculous right below the yin-yang symbol appears to be a ring. Displayed on the ring is a side-view of a lion. Going counter-clockwise, the next Miraculous is a bracelet, with a snake biting its tail. This is representing Ouroboros, which is defined by Wikipedia as “ an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail.” This Miraculous is either for a snake or a dragon, with the latter more likely by its appearance. The next Miraculous is another ring with a brown creature on it, looking like a bear or a related-appearing animal. The pair of earrings with stripes is a hard one to guess. It may be for a zebra or an older design for the Bee Miraculous, but I think it may be for a tiger (I’ll explain this reason later on).

Directly above the yin-yang symbol is a ring with a bull image on it. To the left is a weird-appearing pair of earrings that seems to be a chicken or rooster head in a side view with a visible eye. The last unknown Miraculous, a ring yet again, has the side view head of an eagle.

I’m sure most of these Miraculouses, if they appear in the final version, will have modified designs that reflect their animal themes stronger, but for being simple representations, those are the animals I see in them. A few of them are supported in images we’ve seen before during Nooroo’s explanation of Miraculouses in “Laybug & Cat Noir”.

From left to right, these are Tomoe Gozen, Cernunnos, and Herakles. None of the Miraculouses from the storyboard have anything strongly similar to Cernunnos, but by his ears, antlers, and tails, he seems to be suggesting the existence of a Deer Miraculous. Tomoe Gozen could have a Miraculous for any type of bird, but by her pointed beak, she seems to leaning towards a bird of prey. I predict she had the Eagle Miraculous seen in the animatic, although that Miraculous could actually be for another bird of prey, like a hawk or falcon. Finally, Herakles has a strong indication for his Miraculous with the lion pelt he’s wearing, and it matches up with the Lion Miraculous in the animatic. From these three, I think it adds more proof for an Eagle Miraculous and Lion Miraculous, and it suggests another possibility with a Deer Miraculous.

Finally, my source of evidence would be on the exterior of Master Fu’s chest. After close examination, I noticed that the clearly shown sides of the chest included one or two buttons with a Chinese character on each one. with twelve buttons in total, I was curious if they could possibly be representing the Chinese zodiac. With research, I found out I was right, and I created a model showing the placement of the buttons.

    MFC Buttons
If these aren’t just for decoration and are actually based on existing Miraculouses, it would mean that twelve more Miraculouses exist. Some of these animals were ones I pointed out with the animatic, like the snake, the ox, and the rooster. The Miraculouses are strongly implied to have been created in ancient China, so it makes sense if the Chinese zodiac animals were included in the many Miraculouses formed. As for a Dragon Miraculous, it may not be a real animal in our world, but concept art for “The Chinese Legend” shows that dragons may exist, or another possibility is that is will be a real animal that is similar to a dragon, like a seadragon (as done in Fruits Basket).

These are my findings from the theme song animatic, the show, and Master Fu’s chest. This image below is the list of Miraculouses that I think have evidence to exist as of now in February 2017:

List of Guesses for Unknown Miraculouses
There may be more, or not all of these will actually exist, but it’s the rough outcome I ended up with. I’m fascinated to see which ones of these will be shown. I don’t think every character in Paris is getting a Miraculous, but I’d love to see guest characters from time to time that happen to be currently wielding one of these. Also, Lindalee Rose revealed that a character we already know will get a Miraculous that we haven’t seen yet, meaning it definitely isn’t one of the seven Miraculous noticed in Season 1.

What are your thoughts? Do you agree with these possibilities, or do you disagree with some of them and/or hope for a different type of Miraculous? Which one, if they’re real, do you think the unknown Miraculous holder will get? I’d love to hear other fans’ thoughts on this subject.

    • So,the Ying-Yang symbol represents all the images of the other Miraculous. If we do have the other Miraculouses appearing, that'd be so cool! But how many floors would you say the Miraulous chest has? In total, there'd be about 21 Miraculouses and I don't think that everyone will get a Miraculous! But I see potential for the Dragon and the OX miraculous appearing in the upcoming seasons! (if they do exist) :D

    • Counting the known 7 Miraculous and the Miraculouses I found could possibly exist, it's 23 Miraculous. Wherever a button is on the chest, there is a horizontal carved line around it. There are a total of 3 lines, and I think they are meant to be the additional floors. Counting them, I think there are a total of 4 floors, the first and top floor containing the Miraculouses we know. We don't know if each level has the same design or Miraculous placings as the top floor, but if that is the case, all 4 floors with 7 places for Miraculouses in each one would mean that the maximum of Miraculous that it could hold (and that may exist) would be 28. In China, 28 is a lucky number, meaning "double prosperity" or "easy to have luck", so if that's the number of Miraculouses in existence, it seems like the right number for it due to its symbolism.

I strongly agree that there is no way we'd get to see all of the Miraculouses being owned or wielded; seven Miraculouses already seems like a lot. It's why that, other than the unknown Miraculous holder, I hope no more Miraculouses are given to Parisians. Instead, it would be awesome to see these additional Miraculouses be with holders from around the world that can make guest appearances. I think it would be cool to know that there are more Miraculous holders in existence than what we mainly see in France, and it expands the Miraculous universe in a thrilling way.

    • That is so cool. Especially the Ying-Yang symbol representing the two strongest Miraculouses. Because there are 23 Miraculouses, do you think the these Jewels will be passed on, not only to Parisians but people outside Paris or France? Considering, Kwammis originate from China, I'd think some Chinese people will earn a Miraculous. There's also going to be an unknown superhero in the Shanghai Special which I'm thrilled about! I also see potential of the Dragon Miraculous making a debut in the future seasons! 🙂

    • Personally, I think the seven we do know of is enough. Any more would cheapen the concept and make it less interesting, plus seven is often the ideal number for MacGuffins (Dragon Balls, Chaos Emeralds, etc.).

    • Well they did mentioned that Ladybug will be going in New York, in second season. And she will be meeting other miraculouses out there.

Also it was confirmed that Chloe will be the Bee Miracolous and Alya will be the Fox Miracuolous! What I believe will come next is to find out that there is miracolouses all over the world, in China, in USA, South America, Afrika... and so on... this way they will cover the whole world and I believe that Miracolous will become an Universe on its own, like DC Universe and Marvel Universe, otherwise why would they use well known words like Superhero and Supervillain?

All they said to my knowledge was "other superheroes", possibly (and hopefully) with powers and origins completely unconnected to the Miraculous, or maybe being something like former Akuma who still have their powers from serving a previous Butterfly.

Well its possible that the Brooch Miraculous in the other cities is actually used for good. It was confirmed that if akumas are not evilized, they can grant humans real powers to use for good.

    • I really like the idea of more Miraculouses. I personally hope that there will be a Wolf Miraculous cos wolves are my absolute favorite animals and they totally deserve one

    • I hope that they do have more miraculouses, i also hope if they make more miraculouses, the miraculouses are a broad range of diffrent species.

    • I like the idea of the 12 chinese zodiacs being miraculouses, but what about the 4 symbols of china? Blue Dragon(Wood), White Tiger(Metal), Black Turtle(Water) and Red Sparrow(Fire), sometimes a yellow snake/dragon(Earth) is mentioned together with them. Yeah, there is already a turtle miraculous, but literally it's "black warrior" and the turtle is more like a snake with a turtle shell. My idea would be that they are normally at the level of the "normal" miraculous (bee, fox etc.) and are just dragon, snake/turtle, tiger and sparrow but can activate their power as one of the four symbols (and change colour) to be almost as strong as Ladybug and Chat Noir.

Maybe the levels represent like sets, each set which like 2+ miraculouses who are known as the strongest of the set. They doesn't have to be sets of seven, but it depend on how they are sorted... It could be that every set was made by a different person, so depending on where this person lived every set has a different theme. maybe one set is based on egyptian mythology, one is based on celtic/nordic myths etc. Just an idea...

    • Thomas could be totally joking, but he mentioned fireflies using nunchucks in a Twitter conversation. I hope he was actually hinting at a future Firefly Miraculous holder, as I discussed here. A Firefly Miraculous holder using one or two nunchucks (maybe even glowing ones, like glowsticks?) sounds like such a brilliant and cool idea!

While it's not certain until it comes out, the second issue of Miraculous Adventures appears to confirm that only one person made the Miraculouses, though other creators aren't impossible to exist yet. More info from that makes it seem that kwamis existed before the Miraculouses. If all of this is true, the creator of Miraculouses, who most likely lived in China if Master Fu's "ancient Chinese secret" comment is referring to the Miraculous' origins, made all of the Miraculouses at once, so there may not be a particular order or organization going on with the box, at least not of particular Miraculouses coming from particular regions.

    • My theory is that those new Miraculouses will work, hierarchically speaking, like the Bronze Saints in Saint Seiya.

Now I explain: in Saint Seiya exists three categories of SaintsBronzeSilver and Gold; obviously the Gold Saints are the most powerful Saints in the series, the Bronze Saints are the weakest, and the Silver Saints are in the middle.

By making a comparison, these Miraculouses are organized in order of power and importance like the Saints.

GoldLadybug and Black Cat: as already stated in the show, these two are the most powerful Miraculouses, and whoever has them both will have the absoulte power.

SilverMothTurtleBeeFox and Peacock: these 5 Miraculouses aren't as powerful as the 2 Miraculouses above, but they are powerful enough to be positioned around the two main Miraculous and on the same level.

Bronze: the other Miraculouses: in terms of power these are the least powerful, "condemned" to be confined in the lower levels of the chest.

Unlike Saint Seya however, whose protagonists are 5 Bronze Saints, in ML the "Gold" and "Silver" Miraculouses are the most prominent, since we have seen only them in the intro.

That said, the present and future miraculous holders will be subdivided in this way:

Gold: the protagonists: of course Marinette and Adrien, since their Love Square is one of the main themes of the series, and their Miraculouses are Hawk Moth's object of desire.

Silver: the secondary characters: namely, those characters that distinguish themselves for a remarkable relationship with the protagonists, and that often have an important role in many episodes (like Alya and Chloe).

Bronze: the tertiary characters: the other ones that have a minor role in the series, like for example Alix and Kim, and that have NOT a notable relationship with the protagonists.

We know that a S1 character will have a new Miraculous, but probably s/he will be a tertiary character the will have a minor role in the series and we'll not see him/her so much (something like Unicorn Jabu in Saint Seiya).

      What do you think?

    • I know I said that if at all possible, I would just want there to be the seven known Miraculouses, but an idea has hit me regarding upcoming villain The Collector: no doubt he'll be "collecting" the Miraculouses (and by that I mean ALL of them, not just the Big 2), but suppose he has his own chosen subordinates who use and abuse some of the Miraculouses as part of their servitude to him.

I would consider Hawkmoth and Le Paon to remain separate from Collector as they are considered a different plotline, but once they're both dealt with, a new ongoing threat would obviously be needed.

    • I actually think that the Firefly thing could be possible, and it is very interesting too

    • Given what information is known, each miracoulous is based around a specific animal and a specific concept/idea, as stated, the ladybug is creation, the cat is destruction, and as such each one would have to have a similar concept attached to it. The moth/butterfly miracoulous seems to be the conspt/idea of change, metamophasis, or other such concept since it's power is that of changing others, which is also what moths and butterflies sometimes symbolize, just as black cats represent bad luck which ties into destruction, while ladybugs symbolize good luck which ties into creation. As such we can expect any miracoulus that shows up to carry similar smbolizm and concepts.
