“ | Every day I think about how lucky I am to live in Paris, and I'm even luckier to get to see all those places through Ladybug's eyes. No one knows the city like Cat Noir and I do. Even when we're on a mission, we can't help but stop for a minute and marvel at the magical city we live in. | ” |
Paris is the capital of France and the country's most populous city. It serves as the setting for all the events of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir. It was chosen as the show's setting to complement the show's romantic comedy undertones, as Paris is known as the "City of Love".[1]

Trivia
- Paris is considered to be a character by the production department.[2]
- The city is the main focus of the webisode "Marinette in Paris".
- The distance between the featured locations are larger in real life than what they appear to be on screen.
- Thomas Astruc explained at Comic Con Paris 2016 that Season 1 was limited in locations due to the lower budget. However, for Season 2, the crew has been able to expand on Paris' locations, adding real and important places like the Arc de Triomphe and Sorbonne.[3]
- Ladybug and Cat Noir appear to be relatively unknown outside Paris, as Prince Ali did not know who they were.
- Vincent Aza knew about Ladybug, but seems to be a bit unacquainted with her, as he refers to her as "this Ladybug."
- Wang Cheng did not know who they were either.
- However Lila appears to be well acquainted with both Ladybug and Cat Noir, lying about being saved by Ladybug to her classmates.
