heh heh sorry, I'm a writer-- I'm used to it.
I'm a writer too. But I don't think we need to quote everything the person before us said, do we? We can just cite their name so they know who we're talking to? Because all that quoting is making it really hard to read the discussion, and I really like the discussion!
Yay! I'm not calling you out or anything. I'm just commenting that people tend to quote whole discussions so you have to read the same statements two or three times.
Thank you. :)
Yes? Because it keeps the thread more organised and makes it easier to find what you're looking for. It also makes it easier to see what part of the conversation they were talking about, because sometimes you end up with multiple people replying after the fact, so you don't have to scroll back up.
I mean, as one of the people who does this a lot, sorry, but it's easier for us because the conversations are long. If I'm no replying to very detail of a long reply, I usually omit the thing and just keep the "Reply to #167" bit.
The function to quote exists for a reason.
I'm just saying, can we make it a little less bulky? There a quotes inside of quotes inside of quotes up there. You can quote part of a message without quoting the entire conversation. Sorry to be critical.
The quotes inside of quotes problem is something to take up with that person on their wall if someone else hasn't done so. I only do it when I'm replying to both people at the same time and what I have to say relates to them both and I usually omit parts I'm not addressing. When I'm replying to the whole thing, I don't see a need to omit the short lines I'm leaving out. There's a reason why I and others reply as we do. It's what ends up happening when you have lots of people with long replies talking.
That being said, this is well off-topic, and that'll get us in trouble, but i don't have anything to add to what I've said above about "Riposte".
